A well-maintained private pool is no hassle: the water is clear whenever you want to swim, the equipment lasts longer and breakdowns don’t appear on the very weekend your guests arrive. That’s what our maintenance service for private homes is all about.
At Total Pool we look after your pool with regular visits tailored to its size, the time of year and how your family actually uses it. All you have to do is swim.
What each visit includes
- Water testing: chlorine or salt, pH and, when needed, alkalinity and hardness.
- Treatment adjustment with just the right amount of product.
- Cleaning of the floor, walls, waterline, skimmers and baskets.
- Plant room check: pump, filter, pressure, valves and possible leaks.
- Filter backwash and rinse when the pressure gauge calls for it.
- Visit report with what we did and any issues found.
Visit frequency by season
It makes no sense to pay for the same number of visits in January as in August. In summer, with heat and daily swimming, one or two visits a week is usual. In spring and autumn visits are spaced out, and in winter it’s enough to check that the water and equipment stay in good condition.
If you prefer to close the pool in the colder months, we also handle winterising and the spring start-up, which is when good preparation really shows.
Why professional maintenance pays off
Badly balanced water uses more chemicals, damages the lining and shortens the life of the pump and filter. Spotting a dripping seal or a pump that’s starting to get noisy costs very little; repairing it once it has failed costs a lot more.
We also work with filtration, salt chlorination and pH control every day, so if we see an improvement on a visit that would save you money or work, we’ll explain it with figures and you decide.

How often does the technician come in summer?
Usually once or twice a week, depending on the size of the pool and how much it’s used. We agree it with you at the start.
Do I need to be at home during the visit?
No. We just need access to the pool and the plant room. We leave you a report after every visit.
Are the chemicals included?
We agree it in the quote: they can be included in the fee or invoiced separately according to actual use.
